About the Event
🎉🔥 BRINGING THE CINEMAS TO YOU
Join the Center for Law and Justice for our Summer Film Series — a space to spark conversation, connection, and community reflection. This season, we’re screening The Help, a powerful film that sheds light on the lived experiences of Black domestic workers in the 1960s South.
We chose this film because it offers a window into the deep-rooted racial and social inequalities that continue to echo today — and invites us to reflect on the courage, dignity, and resistance of Black women in the face of injustice.
🗣️ After the film, stay for a community discussion to share your thoughts, experiences, and insights. Let’s explore how the themes in the movie still show up in our communities — and how we can work together to create a more just and compassionate future.
This event is free and open to the public. All are welcome!
